Morning all, pray for me. My youngest daughter goes to get her driving permit today. She will NOT be driving home however!

Man I am right behind you...our oldest turns 15 in September...her permit days aren't that far away...although I've told her...she has to mature a LOT before I even consider getting her that permit...it's the last thing I have to hold over her head and she DOES have to MATURE...it doesn't seem to phase her...
Enough about me...GOOD LUCK BUDDY!!!...many have plowed this ground before us...
GOD BLESS!!!

My daughter (16) has her permit and drives her mom on occasion.
Yet she is not pushing for total freedom.
I think that her knowledge of the work I do has tempered her desires.
I've got a '05 Taurus for her to drive when the time comes.
She's learning in a '07 Taurus.

I am currently on my 6th student driver, my nearly 16 yr old step-daughter. Also taught my 4 kids PLUS my wife. One guess as to who was the hardest to teach.
Alas, every one of them except my oldest daughter has crashed something but luckily nobody seriously hurt.
1) Oldest son hit a deer that got under the car, he went into the right ditch, then back accross the road into the opposite ditch. Totalled his sister's Sebring convertible.
2) Middle daughter lost control on ice, did a 180 into the oncoming lane and got hit in the back of the car by somebody going the other way. All HS kids involved. Scary looking result and they all got VERY lucky. I guess the Cougar did it's job, folded up like an accordian.
3) Wife lost it on ice/snow, spun around, into the ditch and rolled her nearly new Cobalt. She walked away without a scratch, bump, or bruise. Totalled the car. On top of that, I was 1800 miles away visiting my brother at the time.
4) Younger son hit a deer at seemingly high speed on the highway. Airbags deployed, but he kept it under control. Totalled that POS Escort.
5) Then just in May, youngest is driving with her mother, a deer hit them! Sprung out of the tall grass and did a head butt into the passenger door and took out the whole side of the car. $5500 in damages later, all is well. I'll give her a pass on that one, based on where it was, I doubt anyone would have ever seen it coming.
Well that's my story, sounds like I am a crappy instructor! They all got tired of hearing my tell them on a daily basis driving is the most dangerous thing they'll ever do. On moment of stupidity or lack of attantion and they are either dead or have changed their lives in a very negative way. Tell em anyway, if that concept sticks for just the right moment, it will save them!
Just to stay on topic, reps are out!

Lucky day reps are out...i.e. 7/7...
And in keeping with Eric's "wrecks" theme...(glad everyone was okay in your wreck experiences Eric!!!)
7/7/04 was the day that changed my life forever...that's the day I was in my horrific motorcycle wreck in Denver CO...
The doctors gave me less than a 1% chance of waking up...I really shouldn't be here...but thankfully after 3+ months in a level 1 trauma center and ~17 surgeries and ultimatley through our good Lord...I am here to share my 8th anniversary with all of you!
Glad I am able to share it with such awesome people...there is a reason for everything in our lives...most we never understand...this...well let's just say I'm glad to be able to be typing this to you!
Have a great day everyone.
God Bless us all...today especially for me!
Thanks,
Joe.

Morning Bryan...
I'll snap a photo of the Vette today...it really is a sweet ride...red with white inserts...all original...a pretty clean "survivor" car...I'd love to buy it from them...but my MIL is not selling!
Speaking of buying...I'm seriously considering buying one of those Volvo hardtop convertibles that I rented 2 weeks ago...that was a nice ride!
