I just installed the 6637 air filter and now I want to remove the stock muffler from my 02 PSD. My question is how much louder will the truck be then. Some say only slightly louder, and others say quite a bit while towing. I don't really mind it being kouder and can tolerate noise from the engine, however, having to listen to my wife complain the entire time on a camping trip towing the 32' 5th wheel camper is not noise that I can tolerate. Anybody without a muffler care to tell me what to expect?
at first I just disconnected mine and wasn't real bad, with a muff delete pipe just a bit louder and runs a lot better
As Rick said if you don't tell her she won't even notice it
Thats all I needed to hear.....off it goes asap. Does anyone sell a pipe to go in place of the muffler? Most local muffler shops around here cannot bent 3 1/2" stuff.

You shouldn't have to bend anything. When I did mine, I just rolled the one pipe 180 degrees till things lined up and installed a straight piece of 3.5" tubing...

Just recently lost mine. I drive with my windows down OFTEN and notice a huge difference, but not a bad one. I like it personally but wouldn't agree with those that say it isn't noticeable....... maybe with the windows up and the radio, or the wife cackling in the background!
I have a 99 PSD and I run a 4" straight pipe exhaust. You wont really notice it inside the cab with the windows up. But when I pull the mountains with my 5 er in tow it can get pretty noisy which I just as the cars that pass me roll their windows up or plug their ears as they go by. Really with the windows up your wife wont even notice. Just get it done all ready always better to beg for forgiveness then ask permission right
