Is your trailer wiring run off of the Ford harness, if so the running lights run off of a relay in the relay fuse box under the hood. The under the dash fuse box should only run the truck lights not the trailer wiring- Unless your trailer wiring was spiced into the truck lights, in which case you may be overloading the truck circut with the tailer hooked up.
Check the fuses in the relay box under the hood. Fuses in there will also supply power to the dash fuse panel. Hope this helps- I had the same thing happen to me, lost all clearance lights- the morning after I hooked up ready to go and checked all good the night before- PITA, took me all morning to track down a liscense plate light socket that had shorted out- kept blowing fuses.

so could it be the relay itself? of does it have to be a fuse? i checked all the fuses they are all good could it blowing fuses caused the relay to go out? its the wierdest thing everyone i talked to didn't believe me thanks alot for the input
On my 93, the trailer marker light relay is the second one from the engine side of the box as viewed from the fender! I suppose a shorted out relay may cause the problem.
The other relays in there are the same P/N, so you could swap it with another to check it out. The one closest to the engine is the trailer battery charge relay, so that would be the one to swap with if you have it. Otherwise, they are cheap enough to buy even at Ford- about 7 bucks each as I recall. Good luck- Check for a short in the trailer wiring harness would be my bet.
I had the same problem (Twice), there was a connector on the drivers side rear of the truck that wore out and had come apart. I lost power to the lights but everything else worked. Funny thing is I never blew a fuse.
PS - The second time I was pulled over during bike week (with two old motorcycles in the back of the truck). The cop came over and checked my papers and the bikes. I asked what I had done (I new I wasnt speeding even though my speedometer didnt work!). He told me "youre lights are all out, youre gonna end up with somebody splattered all over the back of your tailgate and I'm gonna be the one thats gonna have to come out and scrape um off." Moral of the story, some off the cops around where I live actually have a sense of humer.
well good and bad news... i stopped today and bought a new relay from ford for 15 bucks... and it still didn't fix it then i thought oh well ill just drive during the day then i got here to get the tractor and my uncle (who i am hauling it for) decided we better get it fixed so we took it to a shop... and they were stumped a while... it turns out that somewhere ahead of the axle in the frame rail there was some kind of bs wiring job and it had wiggled apart... so they replaced a 8 inch piece for 100 bucks lol well long story short i didn't have to pay for it. so maybe the next time this happens ill know where to look haha thanks a lot for your help i was sure it was a fuse of a relay or something... to bad it wasn't the trailer then we could have gotten the rental for free
p.s. ill post some pictures im sure the loading style will scare some of you lol
