Thinking about inductive heat flash

My truck has been running rough on cold starts for some time now. Once it warms up, no more problem. When this first started happening I took it in and the dealer replaced 1 bad injector. This was last Spring. I was haveing more problems with rough running at the time, and this seemed to fix it, although it still sputtered slightly on the first start of the day. Now that temps are dropping it sputters a lot till operating temp is reached. I think I want to try the flash. I run an sct X3program (economy mostly). If I return the truck to stock and get the flash, will my sct programs still work, and if so, will the inductive heat flash work within the sct programs?? No preaching about warranty stuff please, Im way past warranty.
Thanks in advance.

Your tunes will work. They say that you need to unlock your tunner before reloading. That way your new stock program is saved to the tunner. I did and still run the same tunes.

Also to note. I lost about 2mpg going to the heat flash.

We bought an 03 ex this summer out of New York that had been a Texas truck most of its life. The oasis had 11 injectors on it and the truck had the buzz flash. At 5*C the cloud that came out of it on the first start of the day would choke a horse. The flash was updated to the latest by ford it reads as VXAP1?? on the sct. There is only the normal puff on start up now and no rough running,go for the new flash there is nothing to loose. We even gained fuel economy but it is still a long way of my sig truck.

I am not saying that it was done incorrectly, but, that is a possibility and that could exacerbate your problems.

What should I expect to pay for the inductive heat flash? My truck is way out of warranty (122K)? I think it will be worth it. I am having to plug in the block heater already, and its only getting down to freezing.

About an hour of shop time. At my dealer it was a bit over $100; it helped my truck on cold starts.

Are the tunes you are running custom ones or are you running the SCT canned tunes?

If they are custom ones you will have to get new ones for the new code. Once they update your flash your PCM code will change and your existing custom tunes will not work.
