Rust protection for Escape 2008?

Rust protection for Escape 2008?
I have a brand new Ford Escape 2008 and was wodering if I should apply rust protection (oil based) to the underbody. I've heard that new vehicles already have it, but, what about Ford Escapes? BTW, I live in Canada where we have a lot of snow and salt during winter. Thks!

I live in New England where they use a lot of salt on the roads in the winter but I've never done anything special to my vehicles as far as undercoating. I wash the undercarriage after a snowstorm once the roads dry off and again in the spring.
How do cars generally hold up in your area? We don't see nearly the number of rust-buckets like there used to be. I think the days of needing to undercoat new cars (beyond what the manufacturer does) are behind us.

My dealership offers an enviremental package. They spray something on the paint, under coat the bottom and scoth guard the interior. for 500.00$. It comes with a 10 year warrenty against rust. Ford also does a lot of rust provention from the factory like galvanizing and what not. Bodies hold up a lot better than they use to. Also as mentioned, keep it washed off in the winter, this will help it last a long long time. The factory warrenty is 5 years against rust-through. I see fords running around here from the early 90's with no rust and I live in northern ohio here in the rust belt. Rust isn't as big of a problem as it once was. In the 70's you were lucky if you got your car paid off before it was rusted out.
