That's what i thought it's kind of hard to see it through the grease lol and rain and dark. Thanks bill and would the D2TE AA heads work if they are rebuildable?
Rob
C4AR, C6AR, C8AE, D2TE...all will work.
If you find C6AR, or C8AE heads with smog manifolds, the holes can be plugged, but those heads could have a carbon build up, and/or burnt valves.
Sounds good I just got one of the broken bolts out of the head i got for free the valves are rusty as heck but I think i'll have them checked out and try to rebuild them myself. Haven't rebuilt a head since high school this should be interesting would you suggest a good part supplier for valves etc.

Ask Don...if anyone knows, he does.
And have those heads magnafluxed before you do anything!
Thanks Bill I will do that. Saw Don yesterday had to show off my new bed caps I had custom made. A friend of mine is a fabricator and he came down and measured everything and made a set from stainless steel they turned out excellent now i have to paint the bed before i can install them. I forgot to ask him about it but i think we got the vibration handled will take back to tire store and have front wheels rebalanced. One other question on the driveline it seem that the rear section is only 1 1/2 to 2 inches on the spline it doesn't seem like enough of course this is empty but still seems like it should be on further greased every thing up and does ride a little smoother but now a tiny bit of vibration in wheel.
THANKS again for your help Bill I hear nothing but good things from Don

Ask Don about the driveline question, he would know more about that than I.
Don stayed here a week last June, when he came down for the Western Nationals Truck Show.
So he knows what a grouchy old so and so I can be.
I wish i were too i think i found some off a 65 tbird with 5000 on them but i got to pull and $80 Oh Well! I just sold my 72 Honda 350 four to a guy down in arlington it's a small world. Thanks though if i ever get to Texas i'll look you up.
Rob
Bill...you arent a grouchy so and so...unless theres a good reason...I got wrapped up in dropping off my friends Fiat transaxle tonight and just got home...also found a tire leak he had on his Mitsu...
The caps looked good, just need a wee bit of easy finishing touches like rounding the corners off as we talked about...my only issue with putting anything on there is it becomes a moisture trap...I wish I had taken some pics of the 66 I parted in August...the top of the rails were dreadfully corroded...about the same texture of cast iron...and hideous floors....and an original LA rig...odd...but those stainless caps look sweet though...I would also make them easy on and off so that when you arent showing them off you can store them where punka$$ twits wont snag them for scrap...stainless is a nice piece for scrap....and decent prices too as I do recycle once in a while...
Yea I agree I think I will make them easily removeable aaaaand they aren't going on til i get the bed done with a liner of some sort and paint the outside but the moisture thing won't be too bad i'll just have to keep it clean. Mom has a 91 mustang and it's really bad under the rear spoiler have to clean & wax it regularly. I hope Keith gets his on soon that truck will look sweet with them on it.
Ya...my Ranger has a drop in liner with edges over the bed rail sides...the edges have worn thru the paint...and it had a canopy so who knows whats under the inner portion of the rail...not pretty though I bet...
Rob, I'm planning on putting the caps on sometime this month. I haven't decided how I'm going to mount them yet. I'll swing by after I get them on to show them off. You'll probably want yours on after that.
Well the deal on the heads fell through I think the guy was lying about the rebuild on them because he said if the manifolds wouldn't come off i would have to buy them as well. If they were rebuilt 5000 miles ago they would come off easily so iguess thats for the best. If anyone runs into a good set that i can bolt on let me know. And yes Keith i already am jealous i want my bed painted so i can put them on.
Rob
Picked up the heads today and what a score. They're in great shape nice and clean very little carbon and it's coming right off. I can't wait to install the but that's going to have to wait i think winter has finally arrived here and i'm not going out to work on the slick in this unless i'm gettin paid to. Thanks again Don for riding up with me and checking things out. One question it looks like there are different valves in these heads some are coned and some aren't you think they reused old ones or what? Don't quit know what to make of it but they all look good. Also I found a full set of fe felpro gaskets online today for only $48 bucks plus shipping so i think i'll order those and get some paint on these bad boys.
