DORA stands for Dealer ORder Acknowledgement. It's basically a "receipt" from Ford, stating that they've recieved the order, shows how the truck will be equipped, and how it will be priced.
The priority numbers determine when the truck will be built; the HIGHER the number, the LOWER the priority. Highest priority is 10, lowest is 99. I'm a little surprised that a dealer would assign such a low priority to a sold order. We always give sold orders a priority of 12-15. 40 is really low; we'd give that to a stock unit that we really didn't need. The priority numbering system allows us to get certain vehicles built faster than others (for example, getting sold orders built ahead of stock units).
i wanted to pass along that i talked with the dealership today and the truck was built on 10/13. so, even with a priority 40 the vehicle was built in a little over 2 weeks after order entry. so, not bad. we'll see how long it takes to make it's way to california.
