My Gf is lookin to buy a truck. She is lookin for either a 01 to 03 body style or 04 to 06. We came across a 03 4x4 Supercab with 93,000 miles with a 5.4L V-8 silver metallic. The dealership said it was in good condition and the guy wants 8995 for it and when i talked to him on the fone today i got him down to 8300. What do you guys think? Is it a deal or no?
If somone can do an oasis report on here, the vin is 1FTRX18L93NB13282
Considering the fact that the dealerships are basically giving trucks away,Id think that you could beat them down more.In my neck of the woods(Memphis) theyre giving away 09s for around 11 grand...I was planning to trade my 97 in for a new one,but decided to keep the old reliable, and bypass a car note....I garuntee you that if they know youre interested, and moreover ready to do business, theyll meet your price.....
If you have $7K in cash you might be able to walk in and take it, otherwise that price isn't terrible but I have noticed prices are dropping every month.
It's a great time to buy a truck, with the recent gas prices. I would take cash with me if possible, and you could probably get them down to $7,500. Otherwise, if you have to finance, it sounds like a good deal.
I checked the oasis on it and the cruise control hasnt been done. Their is also another TSB in the Oasis report that sates the a/c compressor needs to be changed out. The TSB is 6-04-09

Are you a technician? You better read that TSB again.
It specifically states that IF the system has lost freon for a front compressor seal failure under factory warranty, DO NOT replace the compressor. Replace the front compressor seal instead.
hey n5926g, my dad works at a ford dealership and says that they havent got any yet. do they really sell them for that cheap out there?
Ive seen a dealership called Price Ford in Millington Tn,advertising them that cheap.Ive not seen one recently(last week or so) but even with the gas prices falling, the dealerships are still hurting.Theyre giving good prices(at least on paper) for trades, and cutting the MSRP...Cash will talk,B/S will walk.
I can just about promise you that if you show up with 7 grand in cash, youll drive out with it.....
who cares if you have cash or not-make your price and stick to it. If you finance do your homework on the current rates. The finance guy is going to try and stick you with a rate that is somewhere between highway robbery and rape. Make those dealers work for your business. They cannot give trucks away right now. They should accept your offer and if they waste your time go next door. There are hundreds of trucks on the market today.
