no more truck

I was driving to work this morning and fell asleep. Doing about 40 mph i hit a telephone pole and snapped it in half and then hit some trees. I walked away with a cut lip. The truck wasn't so lucky. It's going to be a total lose. I got super lucky that i walked away and no one else got hurt. Guess i don't have to worry about my oil leak anymore. Really depressing day so far.

Which truck?? You have two in your signature.

Man...glad you're okay! Have you been working overtime or something? Falling asleep in the morning...whew...not really heard of that. Mostly hear about it at night after being on the road for a long time.

Man, sorry to hear about that. You are lucky though! Anything like that and it's hit or miss. I'd be happy it was just a cut lip.

Heck, there's a pic on wrecked exotics.com with Super Duty (or F150 I can't remember now) that had a telephone pole slide off the truck and impaled the driver. How's that for a morning commute?

It was my 250. Yes i was extremely lucky. I have been working lots of overtime. The cop said he's never seen a telephone poll come down like that before.

I took down a fence one time from falling asleep. I too was very lucky. You can replace the truck!

thankfully, you were driving a truck and not a small car where you may not have gotten away relatively unharmed... sorry to hear about this and hope you can replace the truck soon.

I'm really thankful it wasn't a car, i wouldn't be in good shape at all. The rear axle got torn out and i don't think there are to many body panels that aren't smashed. the pole must have came down on the bed cause it's pretty messed up. It has powerslot rotors with less than 100 miles on them!

Sorry to hear about your truck. Be ready to be stiff tomorrow morning!

Side note: time to take a break from work. Not worth killing yourself over for the money or the job.

That is a hard thing to imagine. I have def felt sleepy coming home from work.

$h*t Happens. Thank god your angel was with you to keep ya out of harms way, and as others have said, thank god you were in the Super Duty.

Truck can be replaced, you can't. Misfortunes such as this seem to have a unique way of turning out for the better. Keep your head held high and get a good night's rest!
