Just went to bankspower.com still no turbo setup for 460 ford trucks yet.

I have been debating on a single turbo. Will the T4 be too much for stock internals? I forgot about the 3:08 gears. I wish money was no object. I am hoping to use some of my bonus money and my tax return to do this. I figured the ballpark cost to be about $8,500 without the gear swap. Still won't have enough but will get me close.

Yes, speed density. The motor is only about 2 years old. I do not want to tear into it unless I have to.

I do plan on running a waist gate. The elevation is somewhere around 4,000 feet. I do not have any pics of the headers I want to run yet as I have not decided on which ones to get.

One of the ways I am going to get around the money problem is with ebay and salvage yards. I also just got offered a part time job as a handyman but no guarantees there. Too much standing around doing nothing. Worked with the guy before. Standing around doing nothing gets nothing.

Thanks for the ideas.

first of all jarod anything that motivates you to improve your truck is not silly in my mind. i was thinking gweeds has a point, since you have six months why not go ahead and do heads and cam or one or the other. i think youll be happier in the long run, besides if you do it right you could also improve your mileage. if you look around im sure you could do cam and heads relatively inexpensive. hope you have fun

If you are just going to laugh and tell me I can not do it or something else negative please do not post.

I plan on having the speed limiter problem fixed so that that will not get in the way. guitarnik, yes I plan on putting headers on the truck as well as a turbo. I was thinking about a pair of T-3's.
racing an f250 is silly.

i am not laughing at you.

i was not negative.

this is a waste of money and time but good luck with it.

I am drawing up plans for another 460 build starting with a fresh block. Haven't decided what to put it in though. That one will be on the drawing board for a while though. Unless of course I end up blowing my motor

On that topic what would be a good cam and head setup for this?

How much money do you have to spend is a better question? Edelbrock makes aluminum performer rpm heads for the 460 for about $2000 a pair. As far as a cam that depends on the purpose of the truck. If you're not worried about blowing up your motor, which you don't seem to be, then I'd just spray the guts out of it with nitrous.

You said this race is on a 5 mile strip, but how long will the race be? Do you plan on driving the truck on the street after the race?
What are the rules of the race? Nitrous allowed? Does it have to be street legal?
Some things: no exhaust; remove bed, all lights, bumpers, seats, A/C, stereo/speakers, carpet, window shades, headliner, get a lightweight battery, if you have 2 gas tanks, then remove 1 of them.
Gear your truck for the race.
Do these things + nitrous (if allowed) and you should win hands down.
Almost forgot: racing fuel

I want to play with nitrus before I use it in my daily driver. Being my daily driver I also am limited on what I can remove. Have to work the truck.

Rules, no rules. Bonus for me. My cousin goes by the adage, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" So he will not be adding anything that the previous owner did not allready put in the truck.

As for racing fuel, does anyone know where I can get some within about 150 miles or so of Salt lake city?

They won't have it on their website. Call them they do have it but it is expensive.

Sorry for the delay. As for the bet... Lets just say that this is the most expensive case a beer ever

This is the usual bet between my cousin and I. Anyone else and the stakes are much higher.

For the headers I was looking at these Hedman Hedders 89510 - Hedman Street Hedders - summitracing.com

Any thoughts about these headers?

i would get a set of full length headers, pull the heads and port the crap outa them yourself to save some money throw some thin head gaskets on it to bump up the compression put a carberated intake manifold on it (not sure about what is the best for a 460 i usually build high horsepower FE's) toss about a 850 blow through holley on there use a bypass fuel pressure regulator with the nipple that adjusts fuel pressure for boost level, run a bigger (3/8) return line to the fuel tank, put your fuel pump on a toggle switch put in a giant blower cam and stick either a single t4 or twin smaller turbos on there with a carb bonnet. probably throw on a 3500 converter or so with some skinny tires up front and normal sized in back (like 235s) so you have less rolling friction.
