10k mod is pretty cheap. $2 for the basic. more than that if you want to use a potentiometer and make it look real nice, but it will still be less than $50.
On edit: I posted this a while back on cheap mods (Lord knows I'm all for cheap):
OK, got me thinking of this more. Other than maintenance stuff and the mods that are listed in my sig, here's my stab at listing what I want to do, what I have done, and still to do.
Here are some more cheap ideas from my wish list of to-do's:
Auxillary driving lights
Auxillary reverse lights
On Board Air
12V outlets in the bed in waterproof housings
LED cup holder lights
lid activated lights in the console
Speaker jacks in waterproof enclosures in the bed
Overhead console fabbed from a late model Explorer console (on workbench for 2 years now.)
LEDs that come on with courtesy light and when you press the unlock on the keyfob - for night-time entry
Light inside toolbox
painting of bed rail plastic with plasikote paint
painting of IC tubes
CCV mod
find a replacement fuel filter beauty cover - PO lost it
front mud flaps
mount the fire extinguisher instead of it rattling around in the back seat tray
Cheap stuff I did:
LED lights above the steps of running boards
3 Light bar under tailgate - dually style
bottle opener in bed
mag light mounted by drivers door
miles of coiled split wire loom stuff for under the hood and for stereo wires - clean up more than anything
Rear mud flaps
sanding and painting of front and rear axle housings - needs that again
Powerstroke emblem on passenger side dash above the glovebox
ha anything useful for truck truck im like down with performance once i get the dp so now it to make it look and have everything i need
and i love alot of the ides on his wish list and was wondering is some one could post as much info on any of those as poss like the plug and bottle opener and light in tool box
