I have on my truck a DP valve which I have id to have come from a 75-79 f150. It has been inactivee for a number of years and open to the air. Now that I am putting the brake system back in operation I find the valve will let no fluid to the rear wheels and I suspect the valve is rusted inside and I think this is a ball on a spring which has frozen in place, But I am just guessing. Is this correct? and Can I disassemble it and free up the inner works or just bite the bullet and buy another.? Thanks
What? If this is around a 1980 that would be to early for anti-lock brakes wouldn’t, and if so they would have to work with the front brakes and a controller? So what is this thing? I think (?) it might be a superficial item or should that read a sacrificial item.
The valve is there because the front end has been replaced with a torsion bar (labaron) frontend which has disc brakes on the front and drums on the rear, thus the need for the Differential valve.
