Hey guys, long time no post. I just pulled the 302 from my 82 F-150. I am planning a heads up rebuild and would like to get rid of some crap on my motor. I would like to trash the EGR valve, air pump, ac, and whatever else I don't need. What kind of stuff will I have to do to make my motor run good while removing all this crap? Can I do it without harming anything down the road?
Thanks
Dave
You need a different carb. The best thing you can do is get a 4bbl manifold, aftermarket or older stock, and a small 500-600cfm 4bbl. This will eliminate the emissions tune of the stock carb.
check my pics of engine before and after paint.I think it came out good.
As long as you dont get a sniffer up the tailpipe at inspection.Chuck all that stuff.I would keep AC though.Wish I had it..I have been working on mine alot lately..I deleted all smog crap..The BBK intake has the plate to block the EGR and has built in TB spacer..
Neatens things up quite a bit..But thats on a EFI motor..If you are carbed just get a nice intake and Holley carb..Take your time reasearch everything and remember its all in the details..
