Hi, I have a 1988 bronco II and am wondering what i have for gears, and diffs in it the VIN is: 1FMCU14T8JUD32866
Axle Code: D7
Rear Axle Tag: 6070
4SL10758F01
I couldn't find anything on the bronco II's so if anyone knows I would appreciate It Thanks.
The stock gear ratio for the axle is in the second line of the axle tag: 4SL10. The gear ratio is 4.10 and it came with a clutch type limited slip (Open rear would have had 4 10 without the SL). If you are certain the rear hasn't been rebuilt with a different gear set, then that's what you have.
Sweet I was under the impession they didn't make 4.10s for the dana 28 but thats what the rear says, and i just cleaned up the front tag and it reads
410 VE87A
7610307 6 does that come out as a 4.10 also...I hope
Yes, rear is a Ford 7.5 (4SL10758F01). the 8F01 will be the production sequence number specific to the individual axle.
I don't know about decoding the axle code for the TTB front end, but, if it's stock, it's a Dana 28, and it has to have the same gear ratio as the rear. I see a 410 in the front axle code, so I expect that means 4.10 gear ratio.
