I was going to change my plugs today when a friend of mine at NAPA said that he heard there was a problem encountered fairly often with the plugs. He said that the rear two plugs a lot of the time pulled the threads out with them.
I know that everytime I mention getting my plugs changed at the dealership they tell me not until 100K. I've a 2003 with a little over 60K. i just can't believe my truck couldn't benefit from changing the plugs after 5 years.
Welcome to FTE vegasvic! Go ahead and change your plugs. The sooner the better for your current situtation. There is more concern the closer you get to that 100k mark. Besides, the 2003 models have an extra thread or two anyway. There is an excellent thread by racerguy and how to change the plugs, you just need the proper tools. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ark-plugs.html Good luck!
