P2420 DTC Code....
Hello everyone, havn 't been on in a while.
I have a P2420 DTC code on my F350. I found that it refers to "Evaporate Emission System Switching Valve Ctrl Circ High"
Not exactly sure what it means, but the interesting part is that when it came on, I was driving down the highway at 65-70mph on cruise control and my truck died. It did not shut down the engine, but it disabled my throttle control (off), reduced my idle to about 550-600rpm and popped on my MIL.
I thought about it for a bit, and decided to shut it down after about 15 minutes, just to let it "cool" per say from my trip on the highway. After looking around the vehicle and checking my fluids, I started it back up to find it working "ok" again.
I drove the rest of the way home without problem I did notice when stopping at traffic lights that the truck was entering "Active" regeneration, so i am guessing it was well over due.
Anyone see this? Got further info on the MIL? or more importantly, would my truck "shut down" be linked to that MIL and why?
