driveshaft help

I need to goto the junkyard and get a drive shaft and yolk (thing that driveshaft attaches too at rear axle) because i dont wanna pay up the nose for new ones. My brother managed to break the u joint there and sheared the end of the shaft and yolk. My question is this. What should i look for out there? the ranger is an 88 extended cab 4x4 manual tranmission. should i look for a truck just like this or what?

Look for a 86-88 like yours. The ranger went to the 8.8 rear diff in 89, so it may be different. The 85 and down had the 2.8, but still could be the same. The bronco II's of that era would be too short.
