my 07 ranger has a lot of chips on the front windshield, i only have 6000 miles and it looks like crap already. i think they use soft glass unless im wrong.
When I first bought my '06 the drivers side window was scratching right away. I didn't notice it at the dealer since it was well below freezing and I didn't think to roll down the windows. I thought it was road dirt, but it turned out the window was slightly off track. I first tried to shimmy it from side to side (driver to passenger) but after I shook it forward to back (front to rear) the scratching was gone.
