Not trying to steal your thread ron, but i am about to install two stock pumop paralell for a diy fuel system....i was curious if anyone out there upgraded their fuel pump and had an extra fuel pump bracket laying around they were looking to part out..thanks!
Ron I hope you get her up and running again....what injectors are you installing?
....i did pick up a T today and did a bowl delete and have not one leak..how ever i cant get a filter head till tuesday...not sure what i want to do..take my chances and run it?? im putting in new injectors next week any way's...what else could happen besides a pluged injector?? i also dont know if my truck will start this winter with out a fuel heater..
Find a spot to put in a $3 Fram inline fuel filter from Wally in there until you can get your filter setup resolved. You have no real filtration to speak of otherwise and if your pump is shedding metal, watch out. Or, you can run it for a week and be fine if you have good fuel and the pump is fine.
thanks Mike...i do have the ITP baldwin filter pre pump,,stock filter is alway's just as white as i put it in..but i understand what your saying..would the fram inline filter flow enouph?? i got a Wix one hanging on the wall
I'd think for piece of mind, put that in-line filter in so if the pump pukes it will clog the cheap filter. But be aware. Our trucks will chug along with 0 fuel pressure. I experimented with a switch at the pump for theft protection. One time I forgot to flip the switch "on" and I chugged around with me wondering what the he11. So the point is if it chugs, the filter is plugged.

Ron, that is what I have been running for years before my pump due to the sump eliminating the lame stuff in the tank. I wasn't about to go straight to my pump without filtration from the tank despite knowing my tank was spotless when I sumped it. It will flow what you need until you get it fixed.

Good point Ron. I don't see it blowing apart though for the short duration we are talking about. It is a new element that is designed to flow fuel. That PSI will be spread across the entire element. I don't see a problem.
thanks Brandon..if not having a fuel heater works out..ill ship it back to you...what do i owe ya for it ??
got my chip back yesterday...guess what ill be doing this weekend...
You dont owe me anything. Remember the Wastegate actuator you sent me?
If you dont need it, put it on your shelf, and whenever someone asks, pay it forward. The only thing its done in my shop for the past year or so, is collect dust, and Ive used it to take some posting pics. Being this far south I KNOW I dont need the FB heater, but up there, you will. The only gelling we have down here happens when Bill Cosby starts pimpin Jello.
