Yeah the easiest way is to cut the tube off of the blocks that it's part of, flip them over and bolt them back to the heads. Of course the left one becomes the right one, and vice-versa.
I 'removed' the smog tubing from behing the engine. had to cut it out using my dremel. I then plugged the open ports. The pic shows how the tubing was not rotted out. As I stared at it thinking of the effort and possible problems I just created a memory of the PO saying he had replaced that tubing came creeping in. I so wanted this to be the problem. I did notice the ruber hoses between the tubing looked old and noticed that it had some cracks in it. My thinking is when I hit high speeds the pressure from the exhaut would force the cracks open. Kind of annoying that the tubing and valves are new (now ruined) and the hoses where old and reused (apparently). The exhaust leak is still there but the truck no longer looses power at highway speeds. I also noticed staining around the base of all the plugs on the right bank and a sooty build up around the manifold. So I need to put a new gasket on the manifold for a good seal. Tried to loosen the bolts but they do not seem to be a standard size head. Might have this done professionally, when my wife and I both find employment that is. Also replaced the EGR valve and it's tube, I had bought new ones some time ago but had not installed them.
Isn't there a threaded something-or-other coming out of the FRONT of the manifolds-at least on the pass side? I swore my truck has this on it and it had rotted at some point in time. When it gets light out, I'll go & check it for sure~
