OK, it happens when I back up. My tires toe in at the top, but when I pull up forward they straighten up again. Also when I back up the tires bind up and scratch up the road grind on the pavement! Also when I get up to about 50 mph I get a bad vibration and the right front tire starts jumping. I`ve changed the bearings and races and also changed the brake cal. Could this be my upper and lower ball joints. This is on the truck listed below. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks!!

if they never been changed in a long time it couldn't hurt to look into that. i used to get a bad vibration up front in my old f150 when i went down the highway and with new ball joints that problem went away but of course i wasn't running 39s either. maybe there could be something else loose up front with the suspension or drivetrain?
by the way i like your truck alot! if your ever lookin' to part with it let me know
Oh man, I`ve got 33' radial A/T`s on now. Actually I never felt all the vibration when I had the big tires on. I just haven`t updated my logo yet. Thanks for the comps. on my truck! I doubt I`ll ever get rid of it though, My wife and boys wouldn`t let me anyway!! Thanks for the response. I`ll have to get some pics since I put the 33`s on. It looks kinda funny now, but I like it. Got a lower gear ratio now! Later Chris!!

i bet it is the upper and lower ball joints. mine are shot on my 88 f150. I amnot ready to change them yet. Winter is comming and its a pain in the ars to change them.
I pressed the ball joints out of my 84 F-250, they were bad, but didn't fix the problem. Turns out the center bushings are bad. I am coverting to a solid front axle, so I am just living with it.
Mine is and IFS but if I remember right the carrier and joints are the same kind of set up as the IFS. I got the ball joint press rent a tool at autozone and let me tell you don't try without it!! I was able to press both the old ones out and new ones in in 5 minutes. It works great!!
Thanks Evan! And thanks for the info on the tool. I didn`t know they made one for that. Hey ford-6, the center bushing you`re talking about -- is thst where the I- beams hook up in the middle?? And I`d like to know how you`re progressing on that straight axle transplant. I like the way that sounds. Too many u-joints on twin beam. Man what were they thinking? Later men!!
