Water Pump Discrepancy

Hey guys, i'm trying to figure out if I ordered the wrong part of if LMC sent me the wrong part... any thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?
for my '49 with an inline six I ordered part# 43-2624 off of page 72 of their catalog (LMC Truck Parts - Page 72). This does not look anything like the water pump that was on the engine and wouldn't mount if I tried as it has an external, to the pump, pump turner thingy. See image below:

Now here are a couple pictures of the one I took out off.

I believe the sheave or pulley on your old one will pop off if persuaded. It's a moot point, tho, the impeller on the new one projects outside of the casing, while the original is inside the casing.

I think that you need part #7HA8505.

If I read the list correctly it is also A-1 Cardone part # 58469.
It appears to be rare.
No one seems to have the pump in stock, though the parts houses will offer to take your core and rebuild it.
C&G Early Ford Parts lists a rebuild kit on their site, their part number is 7HA-8591

The correct part number for a 226 waterpump, as used in trucks only is: 7HA8501

No Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

I did find 5 NOS OHA8501B's at Green Sales, but according to the 1949/59 car parts catalog, this pump was only used on 1949/51 cars (226).

This OHA8501B waterpump is prolly the one lmc is selling. lmc's catalogs are full of errors!

Dennis Carpenters NOS parts website (not his repro parts website), shows one: 7HA8591 .. Waterpump Rebuild Kit...which also fits 1950/53 254's.

Dennis Carpenter's NOS parts phone number: 704-786-8139

I was also told by a friend late last night to try Targy’s (402-731-6294), a local shop (Omaha, NE) that deals with a lot of this stuff. They’re going to call me back after they look into the part numbers you guys gave me! Thanks a bunch, and I’ll let you know how it turns out.
