ABS Question ??

ABS Question ??
1999 F150 2 wheel dr. small v8 automatic. ABS lite remains on. Brakes seem to work fine. Where are the sensors located & how are they tested? Also is there any harm if I continue to drive it. Thanks Jack

im not positive, but most vehicles have one on each front wheel, and one in the rear axle pumpkin. it is not uncommon for the rear to get covered with crud in the axle oil and not be able to see the teeth go around. you might take the rear pickup out, clean and reinstall. the front are more sealed and tend to be o.k. unless they get smacked. for a test, take the battery cable off and clear everything in storage. put the cable back on and start motor. is the light off? if so the computer is o.k. and wires are connected. now drive the truck, if light comes on, then the sensor cant see the ring teeth.
