Hi guys - this is not really a PSD question, but I never get much help from other forums so here goes...
I have a fairly new Western plow mounted to an '85 Ramcharger that is on its last legs. I was thinking about fitting the thing onto my 2000 F250 but the Unimount frame is no longer available and the stupid Ultramount adapter is ridiculously expensive. I can cut and weld pretty well, so I thought I might be able to modify the mounts so that I can fit it to my SD.
Is anyone here willing to take and post pics of their Western Unimount setup, frame attachments etc for me?
Hi Alan, I can get some pics for you, I have the Uni-Mount on my 01, you'll just have to wait until I get it off the blocks, front wheel bearing went out
I bought my 02 last year & called around to some Western plow dealers until I found one that had a used set of uni-mount brackets. Can't remember what I paid for them & the wiring but it was less than the new ultra-mount and adapter brackets.
Haven't got around to installing them yet, wanted to sand blast & paint them first but now I'm not sure if I want to do it at all.
If I could find a sucker I mean buyer for the whole shebang I'd probably let it go. My plow is probably 10 years old & I never got it in the salt, just used it for my driveway and a few friends. Always keep it in the corner of the shop the rest of the year, the fading is minimal, no rust to speak of.
Anyway I could take some pics of the mount brackets laying on the shop floor if they would be any help. Let me know.
