did a brake job a couple of months ago with new rotors, pins, calipers. now the ol' 93 eddie bauer awd is pulling lightly to the left when i brake. i'm quite the novice...any suggestions on what to look for would be greatly appreciated.

Now, meaning it just started or since the brake job. You might have air in the lines. Did you lube the new pins?

what was the reason for doing the brakes?
worn out?
pulling?

got any overheating on either side?

with these old rigs, the flex brake lines break down internally and block brake fluid flow both out to the cylinder= weak brake action and return fluid which causes brake pad drag and overheating

need to be replaced every 10 years or 100k miles

would you fly and land in an airliner with old leaking brake lines?

replace the caliper slide pins with new every caliper change.
the rubber tensioners break down from the grease and heat. cause sticking of caliper slides and pad drag all the time

Wait. These aren't floating calipers, they don't have real pins. You just need to lubricate the caliper sliding grooves with disc brake caliper grease

Actually, they ARE floating calipers, which is why they need to slide on those pins with the rubber inserts. The only non-floating calipers would be those with pistons on both sides.

The stock setup fo rhte flex lines are kind of dangerous in my opinion. The outer rubber tube that's supposed to protect the line from two sharp bends damage the lines externally in two ways. First, the tube is cut very sharply, and believe it or not, the sharp edge at the lower end pushing against the brake line actually cuts into the outer sheath of the line with enough flexing. Second, the upper end completely encloses the metal fitting that's held on to the bracket on the frame. It traps water in that area, causing the fitting to corrode.

When I replaced my lines, I cut a V-groove into the lower part of that tube so it does not have just one stop to push and eventually cut into the flex line, and left a 1/2" gap at the top so water that gets in there can evaporate.

Technically they are but they aren't as critical as other Ford setups like the rear disks on my '88 TurboCoupe. The pins would rust up if the boots wore out and let moisture in

Since you have replaced all the items pertaining to brake problems (apart from the flexible hoses) & assuming the air is out of the system.

I would get the tie rod bushings, ball joints, steering gear, etc, checked for play. A worn joint on one side only will tend to create a pulling effect when you brake. If you jack up the front you might be able to feel any bad play by grabbing the wheels at 3 & 9 oclock and rocking against the spindles. Check your wheel bearings for play also. Too much play in a wheel bearing will tend to create a wandering & imprecise steering you would notice when braking.

Aeroman.

Late to the party here, but having done my share of novice mistakes with these brakes, it is really easy to get one "pin" in correctly and to err with the other. One side may be binding and affecting the brake action causing the left pull.
