hey guys i was wondering if my stock 52 f1 trans crossmember could be used for my aod by simply relocating it any ideas on locating a engine crossmember for a sbf thanx rod

If you look at the rivets on top of the frame where the trans crossmember is, you'll see the taper where the frame goes inboard, (32" in front 34" in back) I don't think you can do much to alter that without going to a full custom crossmember for the AOD. You could leave the riveted ends on the frame, cut out the entire center section of it, and put in something else to fit, but remember there's some engineering involved with hanging something on that if it sits too far back it might not hold it very well. This crossmember also holds the frame from spreading, so width is important as well.
