Thanks. While I got your attention, what tune of theres do you run? Ive just been using the pre loaded tunes on the X3, I want the most aggressive tune but be streetable.
I ran the hybrid file. Lots of fun. Back in school so i am back to stock because i cant pay to play right now if something happens. To me the archive hybrid file isnt no where near as strong as the one i had sent to me when i bought my tuner from them last dec. I had to also play with the shift pressure with the archive tune
i have there custom tunes (ECON, ASE, HR)
ECON-shifts great, crisp but not neck snapping or erratic. very little smoke but still has power through the whole power band, just not as much fuel down low or at low boost like the hybrid.
ASE-same as above but with holds each gear a little longer and shifts faster and harder in a good safe way. smoke down low but cleans up quick.
HR-i used this tune as my daily driver and drive my truck pretty easy and it worked great. more fuel at low boost so there is smoke and when you hammer it it can black out the lane next to you. (i do have injectors and fuel pump so that could help) the only negative is that it sometimes shifts erratically and doesn't like it when you baby the truck for a day and then the next day drive it hard. it kind of seems like it doesn't know how to shift if you change your style.
i switched to the ASE because i didn't like the HR weird shifting and not adapting to my driving style changes.
but yesterday i loaded the HR back in because i got some 35's and wanted the firmer shifts and am just going to drive it normal so the tune is working fine.
(my tunes are custom, when i ordered my SCT from Spartan i talked to matt and told him that i wanted to have my tunes to be super safe and safe enough for stock bolts even though i have studs so my tunes aren't as ***** out as some others on here) still tons of power and my last dyno pull the other week put down around 370wrhp with ASE and a lot of torque.
Thanks. Know what you mean, I on the other hand would LOVE a good excuse to install studs!
Just run the Hybrid Race and run the guts out of it, they'll pop lol. Thats what happened to mine while I was racing a Chevy. I took out the head gaskets and egr cooler all in one shot!!
But its all good now, we're studded and still running it hard!!!

You want me to email the hybrid race tune for my truck for you? I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with it. Seeing this thread makes me want to put the hybrid tune back on the truck for a couple of days just to have some fun before winter really hits full force here and have to worry about too much power to the wheels.

yeah that would be cool. it's not tuned for your NON-VGT right? our injectors are pretty close in size and i have the stock turbo so i think it should be all good. thanks!
370 on the ASE?! My Ultra Comp only dynoed 389!! lol Thats a good number for sure! Tex, did you ever get a good dyno with your setup?
can't tell if your being sarcastic but if not thanks. i'm not pushing or even really trying to push big numbers i just like having reliability w/ power. my custom ASE dyno's almost exactly the same as my custom HR except the HR had way more torque and the shifting and everything else is different (TC lockup, RPM shiftpoints, etc.)

Bean just got a "new" dyno, the only bad thing is that it's the dyno that my truck puked on so I'm feeling a little bad mugambo when it comes to that dyno. However, I think I'll have to bite the bullet and get it done sometime, might be as soon as next Tuesday as it looks like I'm going to be free that day.

I've got the one just for when I did the injectors. I actually don't have a copy of the new one on my computer(I wish there was some way to get it of the SCT itself, but I don't know how to do that) as Matt did it for me on the spot while I was at his place in NC.

Well Ive got the truck tore down now making a EGR delete kit, so thats one less thing to worry about tearing up LOL but I need a tune for NO egr but I cant get in touch with spartan so Im looking for other alternatives. Im sure they have the tune I want already written so I just need them to send it to me I have the money to pay Im not wanting a hand out. Anyone know of any other reputable tuners that can get me what I want? I really want the spartan hybrid but Im working against time (plus Im impatient )
