[updated:LAST EDITED ON 28-Nov-02 AT 10:41 AM (EST)]Had 265/75/16 mounted on my F250 4x4 and just got back from a 1500 mile trip. I will say the ride was great. The tires are out of balance at one speed ( 75/80 ) but anything below 75 or above 80 rides real smooth. I wonder if the tires can be rebalanced to get that perfect ride. I was told that the 10 ply was hard to balance
and that I should be happy with this setup.
I did notice that there are a lot of weights on the wheels.

yes,
Some times on larger tires they need to be run a good bit before they will break in. If there is a lot of weights on now, a rebalance after the trip that you just took should bring some of those weights off.
About the 10 plys being tough to balance is BS, it's probably more like that they didn't want to balance them right.
when you talk about alot of weights, are they all on one side of the rim (looking at the tire laying down on the ground) or are there weights on 2 different areas of the rim?

hmm sounds about right, I'd still take them back to have them rebalanced, In most cases a rebalance after 2000 miles will knock some of that weight off.
