Help! I cannot start my engine!

Hello all, I am hoping that you can help me with my starting problem. I was having problems starting it for a while then I replace the coil and the coil connector, and that fixed it for a while but now I cannot even get the engine to fire, all it does is turn over and over. It is getting gas because I can smell it but I am unsure if it is getting a spark. When I replaced the coil connector I had to splice into the wires and I used twist on connectors, later I replaced these with but connectors, then the car would not start and I put the twist on connectors back on and it started. However the next morning when I went to start it it would not start. This was over a week ago and I still have not figured out what is wrong. So I ask, HELP!

Thanks in Advance,
Scott Williams

when using the twist conns. your putting force on the wire making good contact, however they're an open connection allowing moister to the connection making it default. try using some starting fluiding on the ends of the wires to dry the out, then re-use a butt connector that is heat shrinkable. This will deliver a good connection and should solve your problem if that is it. A good way to check for spark is to find a good scissor clamp and clamp a spark plug down to the valve cover or something for a good ground, then test your wire. You can also trace the wires until you find a fusible link. Sometimes these can hold moisterand cause a bad connection. try these and let us know
