My fuel gauge drops to E and my engine light comes on periodically . My truck is still under warranty but after three trips to the dealer (not the one I bought it from ) they say it must be the programmer . Bullydog triple dog . Could the egr valve and sending unit in the fuel tank be the problem ? The triple dog has been on since June .
It could be that the sender is bad. The Bully Dog should have nothing to do with it...I dont think. What year is your truck. You could run a full shot of fuel system treatment throught it and that will probably clear up the sticking sending unit. As far as the CEL you need to post the code that it has in it so we can help more with that.
After thinking about when the problem started it appeared to me that it started after I was playing around with my dump temperatures for my pyro and trans. I went back and set them for a higher temp on my program and everything seems to be fine now. And yes I am a 1st time diesel owner , of a truck anyways .

gonna need to find out what the code is. it could be from the bullydog. The fuel gauge issue could be a sending unit. Try some chevron with techron additive. There is a tsb out by ford that recommends using the additive to free up sending units before replacing them. My dealer was nice enough to replace it out of warranty.
