boost question
I think i have found out why my boost has never been any higher than stock campared to race or extreme with my edge evolution, it looks like the edge gets its boost reading from the computer becouse i cant find a boost line (had it installed by a diesel mech). So can the boost ever get to high to cause problemes now that i installed the overboost annihilater and have no idea what it realy is? my truck is a 99 by the way.

the boost is being read from the map sensor and from my expierence is a little off! most put a T fitting in the line going to map sensor and can read the TRUE boost pressure via a true gauge. The motor will defuel before dangerous high boost is reached and on the edge i dont think you'll have enuff to throw the ses light for overboost.
edit: the overboost aniahlator keeps the sensor from reading overboost. BTW do you have any gauges?

i have the guages that come with edge pyro, boost, engine temp and other needless ones but they are there. so could i have burt anything on the spin i took my truck on in race mode and put it to the floor till it hit 19 and kept it there to see if it would climb and it didnt. but can my truck get high enough in the boost with the chip and annihilater to break things. do i realy need to get an acurate boost guage or no?

IF the Edge is giving you more than 19psi, you'll never see it because the OBA is masking it from the PCM, which is where the Edge reads the boost from... See where this is going? You need REAL gauges... There have been several threads discussing the accuracy of the MAP sensor, so take that value with a grain of salt. The ITP OBA is set to 21psi, so you should be seeing at least that, given the Edge is getting you that high, and the MAP sensor is accurate.
