a guy on craigslist has some resurfaced fly wheels for a flathead for sale
i have yet to take my engine and trans apart but the price is great if they r the right ones
he has both 10" and 11" versions
what info do i need to know to see if they will fit my truck
truck:
1949 ford f6
flathead v8
4 speed unsynchronized trans
The trans doesn't affect your choice of flywheels; the engine does. Is your engine still an 8BA/8RT? If so you need to make sure you get an 8BA flywheel, and one drilled for an 11" clutch if you are staying stock.
The pic below shows the differences between pre-8BA flywheels and 8BA type.
Are they the right ones? They need to look like the one on the right. If so, yes, that's as cheap as you'll get, it's cheaper than resurfacing alone. I would get it balanced before using it. No telling how many times it's been cut.
