1st power stroke

what are the main differencse in the first generation power stroke 1994- 1999 and our 7.3 i just seem to like the sound better on the older ones

Several things, just counting the engine they do not have an intercooler (early 99s did), smaller single shot(correct?) injectors, smaller HPOP, Smaller turbo, different air intakes, different transmissions.

You're hearing the older injectors. You can change out yours and get that same sound (or better!!) and get a nice bump in power. But it's a pricey endeavor, and lost of other mods need done first...

I think you need a computer re program to switch don't you? The single shots sound better in my opinion... and make more power as said above... maybe i should switch to single shots to hide the loud cackle haha. Don't the older trucks have a mechanical fuel pump that isn't capable of as high of fuel pressures? I think the largest sound difference comes from split shot injectors and single shots.
