You might be right. That's why I said my Dad would help me. He could dismantle all computers on a Cadillac and put them back together again with no trouble. Blows my mind.

Give me a computer and I can make it sing. Tell me you want a website, I can make it happen. Give me a mess of wires, my brain shuts down.

Yeah mines just a cheap valet brand remote starter, nothing fancy 3 buttons, 1 to start, 1 unlocks/ locks the doors and the other isnt being used. i think it has the option to upgrade to add another feature to it or something??. but when i hit the button the truck starts , thats all i care about . yeah theres just to many stereo shops around my way and as cheap as they are it was just easier to do it like that. if i didnt have a local place to go i would have done it myself most likely. i think circuit city's and best buy's do them pretty cheap also

Yeah, Circuit City has this one for $59.99. Valet 561R Remote Start/Keyless Entry

It has the basics, nothing fancy. But check this out...the Valet 4-button Replacement Remote is $49.99! That's crazy!!!!!

Edit-

I just checked out Sams Club, and online they are offering these two options.

Bulldog Security RS1200E Remote Starter $59.56 (shipping included)

Bulldog Security Deluxe500 2 Way Remote Starter $101.28 (shipping included)

Anyone have any Bulldog products that can speak of their quality?

Oh and you'll need one of these to bypass the anti-theft key code system.

So what I'm seeing is that not all remote starters have the defrost option for your mirrors and back glass. I'm I correct?

This search on eBay turns up 10.

But why in the heck are the top 3 different prices from the same location? The top one does offer free shipping, but the shipping on the other is only $10.

I don't need the two way function, but it would be nice if the price isn't that much higher.

Not all have that, but some of the ones listed above have an auxiliary channel that could be hooked up tho the rear defroster.

Thanks! In that case, I may go with the one from Circuit City for $59.

With the one I posted above, I did connect it's AUX output feature to turn on my mirror and rear glass defrosters. Works like a charm.

Believe you me, get the 2-way function. I was like you and figured who needs it. But once I did have the 2-way feature I am thrilled to have it. Not only does it notify you if the alarm were to be tripped, but it tells you if the vehicle is locked and if it is running. Nothing worse than going out in 15 degree weather only to find out it never started and it's still an icebox inside and your windows are still frosted over. If you think the few extra bucks for 2-way is expensive, try being late for work a few times.

I must be missing the aux hookup on the eBay listing you posted. I don't see it. I'd get it if I new for a fact it had that options. I see the mention of AC, but not defrost.

Now that you mention that, it makes sense. My truck sits about 15 feet from my bedroom window, but I guess at the office it is not always in view.

Maybe my wife will let me get an early Christmas present????

I believe this is the feature: #16 Second and third channel output

The second channel is actually the trunk release and the third channel is the AUX. Both are programmable as far as sending a long/short pulse or staying on constantly. Worst case scenario, if I'm wrong and there is no longer an AUX output, the trunk release can be used since there is no trunk on an Expedition. The defroster switch only needs a pulse to be turned on and a second pulse will turn it off if you so choose.

LOL, I totally missed that. What could I hook the 3rd output up to? Maybe the sunroof. LOL
