Bad Fuel Problem?

A buddy of mine just told me that he has to have almost his entire fuel system/tank replaced because of bad diesel fuel. They said that the lining is coming off from inside the tank. He has been buying his fuel from the same place, so it appears it may be coming from them. Unfortunately it is one of those independant Freestate dealers. So who knows where the fuel comes from? Anybody have any experience or issues with this? Also who might he go back to about where the problem may have started. If it's a ford problem I would think he has an issue with Ford. If it's a fuel problem I would think the dealer is who to go back to. Thanks, Tom

was it a bio-blend? I know that bio acts as a solvent and cleans the inside of the tank... or is the tank itself falling apart?

No Bio. As far as I know they said the liner was coming apart contaminating everything downstream.

Only certain configurations came with metal tanks. Most Superduties came with plastic tanks.

With regards to the metal tank issues, that's not necessarily caused by a fuel problem.
