Striping with single stage paint
I'm getting ready to due a single stage satin black paint job with silver stripes. My question is since I can't color sand this paint are their any tricks to keep the ridge from being so noticeable on the silver? I heard something a while back about pulling the tape before the paint sets up and the edges will soften by the time it hardens. Not a body man so I wouldn't really know.

You heard right. But first make sure you use thin-line stripe-tape. It's a vinyl tape that leaves little edge to start with. Once you get your color on, wait til it's barely dry to touch (within 10mins at 80F) and pull the tape off - back and away from the fresh paint. The edge will settle down. You can also put a vinyl pinstrip over the edge to hide the transition.
