Toolbox polish that works

I have been reading on here and found diamond brite. I was a little worried about spending 13 bux on something for cleaning, but i'm glad i did. Here are some before and after pics. All I did was put some on a wax pad, applied it back and forth, wait a minute, and scrub it off. I would highly recommend this stuff. U can get it at lowes on the toolbox isle.

Before

After

And here are the rags(the oxidation comes off black)

Better built is very proud of that stuff. Our rep gave a long presentation on it many years ago and it's good stuff. It works great on all aluminum, I haven't tried it on SS. I had a bottle for several years that I never used up. You can probably polish 5-6 boxes with one bottle depending on it's condition.

I believe there is a difference in the way they both cut. Mag/Alum is an abrasive polish, the diamond brite cuts with less elbow grease so I suspect it has an acidic component. If you have corrosion I would use the diamond brite, but just to polish the wheels, I think mag/alum is a better choice.

Something you may also want to look at is Mother's Billet Polish. It less abrasive, but give you shine your looking for.

This stuff is like milk. I think it is more of a cleaner than abrasive. I done my box and you can hardly tell i used any of it.

UTf... I started like I was puting wax on a car in a circular motion, then i switched up to going up and down the lid. Then when i was getting it off i try to follow the grooves of the diamond plate. I'd like to find some kind of tool i could put on a drill, but the diamonds would probably cut it to pieces.

The Mother's power ***** probably will not, but Flitz has a more cloth like material. Flitz's ball material seems more like a synthetic chamois.

Most major truck stops sell an aluminum acid that will make aluminum and stainless look brand new in about 10min. Just spray it on with a pump-up sprayer and rinse it off. It supposedly will not hurt paint but I always try to avoid getting it on it. It cost about $20/$25 per gallon. Also most of the larger Featherlite trailer dealers will do it for you for a small fee.

I just cleaned up some mag wheels for someone using a Mouse sander, wished I'd taken before and after pictures. Started out with the light Grey pad that looks like a scotch brite pad on the really bad places, with diluted dish soap as a lubricant. Switched to the White pad. Finished up with Mothers on one of the Mouse foam pads.
