hey i have an 89 f250 fwd....
i have a seriouse death shake at around 40 mph...i ifgured it was the ball joints.. however i replced those.. and still shake is still thier.. what else do u think it could be...oh and threw new inner and outer bearings in as well
Are your wheels out of balance? Mine had stick on weights on the back of the rims and one side came off. Up to about 45mph it was fine then it felt like the frontend was coming off. Had them rebalanced and the problem was gone.

Also check the front spring and shackle bushings. Others have reported that fitting a steering damper solved the problem.
how old are your tires? well, age does not matter. i used to work for a construction company and we drove an early 90's f250 that would just randomly do the death wobbly. i finally talked them into replacing the tires. give that a shot and see what happens.
Mine had the same problem always at 35mph. I needed tires, and an alignment that fixed the problem.
If this "death shake" shakes the stearing wheel it is in the front end, either tires or alignment or both.
Two things I recommend;
Check the alignment too much toe can cause this, run your hand across the top of the tire, if there is to much toe in the tire will be featherd and grab your hand more on the edges of the tread while pulling from inside to out.
DYNABEADS ROCK! I need no balancing weights on my 37" swampers, a notoriously hard tire to balance this stiff truck with big mud tires rides like glass on the highway check them out.
