Vacuum Hub issue
I am having a bit of an issue with getting vacuum to my hubs. The vacuum pump works fine because when i check vacuum at the solonoid thr pump cycles off at about 14in. But it doesn`t always release vacuum to the hubs when i turn the switch on the dash. Now i am wondering if it is an intermitent signal to the solonoid from where ever the signal comes from or a faulty solonoid ? How do you check the signal ? I am considering changing to some warn premium hubs (on sale for 189.00$) but then i would have to manup and get out to put it in 4x4 every time or can you drive with the hubs locked and then hit the switch and have 4x4? You could have a simple vaccum leak and all you need to do is track it down or the hubs could be going out. You might want to try the hub maintance by guzzle Welcome to guzzle's Ford PSD Web Page. If not plug them off and get the warns, that is what I did I am not to lazy to get out and lock them in. You could always just leave them locked in

Go to the super/heavy duty forum. There you will find a question about the vacuum hose routing from mongo75. I can't remember the name of the great guy who posted the diagram but he also posted all the trouble shooting/diagnose from the factory service manual. I have a service disk but it was easier for me to print the pages for the issue that I am having so go there and take a look. Excellent information. Hope that helps.
