Steering Stabilizer Failure

Went to the local Parts Source today and picked up a new steering stabilizer for the Crew Cab. Checked it out before installing and it was the same size, diameter as the one on the truck, so I changed it over. Went for a quick ride around the block afterwards and found that it was squirting out fluid. Now questions are, did I install it incorrectly? Or is it faulty? When I installed it it looked like it was at a slight upward angle to the side that moves with the steering. On the Crew Cab, one end is mounted to the shock mount, and the other to the long tie rod. If it is angled slightly it shouldn't make a difference as it is rubber mounted and should move some. Any opinions?

I'm no expert but it sounds like a failure to me. A slight angle like that should not cause any problems that I can think of.

I would take it back, I doubt it was installed that incorrectly.
