66 body code

66 body code

need to know what the body code 481 on a 66 means i didnt see it listed in the decoder, thanks.

According to my 66' shop manual-4-biege vinyl 81-conventional cab.

what is bieg vinyl? the seat or dash pad. color code for truck is h.

My guess would be the seat, it was under the box heading as interior trim codes, the 81 was under body types. H-under ext. paint color codes H- light biege.

Charlie is correct. The digit or character code before the body code indicates the interior trim color and type. The dashpad is not included, though.

the only thing thats vinyil would have to be the seat, there is no other interior vinyil unless it was removed. there is no holes on doors for vinyal either.

This truck is a non Custom Cab truck as the base models had a number for the interior trim code whereas the CC trucks had a letter/s. Also, most trucks have either an A or a B after the 81 A= base model, B= CC...mine doesnt have this...I think it was due to lack of room on the tag as my trim code has 2 letters then the 81 and then the other codes.
As far as what all your truck would have in beige, that would be either 1 or 2 armrests, depending how it was ordered and the steering wheel and column could very likely be beige too...though its not a CC truck, I have seen base models with the color keyed column and wheel.

481: 4 = Medium Beige Crush Vinyl & Medium Beige Wicker Pattern Vinyl / 81 = 81A Standard Cab

Ths refers to the types and pattern of the material used on the seat.
