Auto Krafters Tailgate?

What a surprise I clicked on Auto Krafters link and the one part I've been looking every where for They have and at a good price. So has anyone bought one. What did You think of it?

before you buy try locating a certifit outlet ,they sell the same replacement tailgate like that for about half that price,I am sure they are all chinese made so metal will be thinner but a good price.

Are you looking for the outer sheet metal or a complete tailgate? I appears that this is only the tailgate "skin" judging by the description and picture.

Where are the F O R D letters?

That 'gate looks naked without the embossed letters.

1967's use the exact same tailgate as 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972 F100/350 short and long bed Styleside pickups (C7TZ9940700A).

Since the same tailgate fits all these years, it's not that hard to find used.

A Ford dealer: Auburn Motor Sales in Auburn Indiana has a used "take off" = 260-925-3100 = Ford part number C7TZ9940700A

The 1967/72 tailgate has been REPRODUCED by Dennis Carpenter. He has 113 of them in stock.

It's very hard to find one that has no rust.
I find it hard to put much time and money in to a rusty part if I can a find new one. Yes $500 + freight to have the Ford embossed instead of just the stickers is to much over the $189.+ And I called Certifit They sell it for $89 hahah but don't have one in stock can't tell Me when They will LOL. They told Me to call New World or Keystone.
As I have started looking for parts for My Sons 74 and My 67 I find most of these trucks are gone do to the high price of scrap iron. They have just disappeared in the last year I'm really sadden over it now new parts are it.

Living in Rustfreeland, I sometimes forget how the other half lives.

You might contact FTE member Gangstakr, he sells rust free CA sheetmetal, and hangs out in the 1961/66 forum.

Obsolete Ford Parts vendor Green Sales Co. has SIX of Dennis Carpenter's reproduction tailgates in stock.

I called them yesterday when I saw this part number on their website: C7TZ9940700A .. Tailgate / Fits: 1967/72 F100/350 Styleside Pickups.

I asked them if this was an original FoMoCo tailgate, they said no, it's a Dennis Carpenter reproduction.

Green Sales (greensalescompany.com) is located in Cincinnati OH = 800-543-4959.
