M5OD needs help

ok about 2 weeks ago i was slowin down and i went to shift outta 4th and into 3rd problem was the truck would NOT let outta 4th and it was grinding bad when i tried so i shut er down and it poped right out put er in gear and it was fine till about wednesday...my clutch went form having maybe 15000 max kms on it to having absolutely nothing (no resistance or grab) until about the last 1/4 of pedal movement then it would engage fully over that little bit...then friday it was a tad bit worse...then today i went and fired er up to warm it up and it was parked in first as soon as it fired it started taking off so i poped it into neutral...then the only gear it would even go into was 4th and reverse and reverse was a bitch...so i had to drive 35km with nothing but 4th gear i only hit one light though so it was ok...it goes into gears fine when its shut down...when i go to release the clutch the pedal come out bout 1/4 the way then stops

any help would be greatly appreciated...its sittin at work for the weekend they are gonna tear it apart monday and try and figure it out but i was wondering if anyone could give me a heads up so i know what to look for.

thanks for your help

Defective master cylinder, defective slave cylinder, clutch pedal/master cyl mounting on firewall breaking up, defective throwout lever/mounting (if fitted), defective throwout bearing, defective clutch. Good luck.

i was thinkin slave cylinder with the clutch issue....but what im worried about is the thing with the gears i talked to a guy at work who work on a lot of transmissions and he says there might be a broken washer on one of the gears or the shift gear or something else but i keep forgetting what its called...and the fact the the slave went less then 2 weeks after the other issue? anyone got any ideas here

Clutch. Floating parts in the trans or getting it in two gears at once = lockup or lots of noise at best. Good luck with the fix.

so your saying its kind of a one time dont worry too much about it, shouldnt happen again thing?

my clutch was new when i bought the truck and ive only put 5000km on it since so it shouldnt be bad already, the guy i bought it from seems like he exaggerated a bit so im thinkin the clutch may have 15000 MAX on it

What I'm saying and if I read the other posts correctly what is being said is you have some clutch issue, not a trans issue. Corrective measures up to teardown & R&R are required.

The M5OD has plugs in the top that sometimes leak. Good time to check those and make sure the fluid is topped up while you do this.
