i was thinking of putting a bed liner on the floor of cab to prevent it rusting in the future. is this the best thing out there for this or is there something else.
next ? what is the best thing for coating the under side if the floor pan.
One of my long term goals is to coat the inside of a cab that I have from the top of the windshield all the way around to under the dash with a spray on bedliner. This should provide insulation and sound deadening that would be hard to get any other way. You can also put it under the cab floor instead of inside for added protection. my 2
Eastwood has some insulation panels may want to take a look at. Applied coat or two of rust prevent paint, believe 'rust bullet', or 'por's15'. Took the jute backed alum. padding, sprayed floor pan with 3M adhesive spray and set the padding down, small areas at a time to get the padding to mold to the contour of the pan. Then used alum tape secured the perimeter and any seams. The carpet was installed other that, this was few yrs. ago and holding up grate. Certainly cut down on road noise and to certain extend insulation. Also, insulated the doors and used a product that comes in 12"X12" sheets and it's crap, subsequently, took it out. Intend redoing doors using another product, it added noise reduction and insulation while it lasted.
When I put the spray in bed liner, I had the inside of the top of the cab done. It does work good as a sound deadner and for rust. I did the floor with a Hammerrite paint and the under side with a self spray on under coating.
