Havent started my truck in a while. Went on vacation for three weeks and its been sitting. Went out to start it tonight and I noticed when I turned the key, the lights were dim. Went to start it and all I heard was click-click-click real fast. Engine did not try to turn. Is it likely batteries or something worse. Auto parts place is closed so I will take them to test tomorrow. Just trying to get a head start. Thanks.
sounds like they are dead to me. pull em out and stick them on a charger overnight. hook everything back up in the morning and see what happens....lol at least thats what i would do.
Sounds like they have drained...Charge em up as said above.. They will most likely do ok but every time that happens the life is reduced by a year or so....
Check to make sure you didn't leave any lights on, even small ones. What about alarm lights? If you have original batts, might need to change 'em out anyway. Mine lasted 6 years in my '03, dunno' how though....
well according to Riggz, the bosch from pep boys are better quality than optima plus have a better warranty too boot. if you let your truck sit that long for numerous times out of the year, my advise would be to get a battery tender and hook it up before you leave that way your batteries stay good and fresh for when you get home and you wont have this problem again.

Where would I get a battery tender? It does sit for short periods... 7-10 days at a time... I guess I just need to drive her more!
just about any auto parts store would have them. i got mine at a motorcycle shop for my motorcycle. they make different sizes i think for different rigs but just about any size should do if its for that period of time its not like you need a rapid charge so you should be fine with a smaller model just to keep them topped off.... keep us posted.
Yep, I-State are good, as are Gold from Sears.
There are plenty of recommendations on here, do a search for battery recommendations.
Should be enough to keep you busy all night.
Good batteries shouldn't die in 3 weeks, it was time. Good thing it happened at home.
Take part of the money you would use on batteries and put it toward a battery charger. Everybody should have one. It should be as common as a set of wrenches.

+1 on that. My Schumacer battery charger has lasted me close to 20 years and is still going strong.
