Code 0455
Hi Guys,
I just ran the OBDII on my 97 F-150...I got three codes,one was 0401...EGR Insufficient flow,0420....Catylist system efficiency below threshold,and then the 0455...Evap Emission control system leak detected(Gross leak)....
First of all,these codes were NOT in the Ford section of the OBDII book,rather the generic....The EGR code Im suspecting is a "cleaning" issue,the Converter code is being addressed,as new converters(and upstream 02 sensors) are on the way...The baffling code is the 0455,Ive looked all over the truck,inspected vac lines,hoses etc,and cant "see" anything out of place.
The questions I have are as follows:
Are these "Generic" codes applicable to the truck(Ford)
Is there any sensor(or component) that I should suspect(inspect) to fix the Evap Emissions Gross leak detected code?

the 0401 is the dpfe sensor out of range dpfe has a reference voltage of 5 volts anything lower or higher and it needs to be changed. 0455 gross leak, check fuel
cap and or replace it for starters, just to try something simple, other than that it could
be anything related to fuel vapor leak. 0420 don't have any information on that particular code, just rattling things off the top of my head.hope it helps

All three "generic" codes are used on Fords.
