power window noise

power window noise
I have a 05 crew cab.My drivers window makes lots of noise going up until it gets 1/2 way then its quiet.Is my window regulator going bad? Or does it just need lubed? How much will it cost to fix?

i have the same problem on the pass front door. it sounds almost like a grinding noise starting about a third of the way up, then it just grinds pretty much until its shut...

mine makes noise too. Has for a year, hasn;t gotten any worse, just annoying.

Window Noise
Mine does it, sounds like a rachet clicking, passenger side is doing it also,started after a year old.

I have a scratching noise. My plan to solve it (today or tomorrow) is to wet a rag with a silicone based cleaner/detailer and wipe the tracks down.

If you want to pull the door panel, white lithium grease is good for the pivot points.

guys i have a 04 F-350 and my dad has a 00 F-350 they were both making the same noise as you guys. i simply took off the door panel and lubed the track, it looked like it never was done by the factory. I also sprayed the window track with silicon spray and now the windows go up and down like their on nitrous and absolutley no noise or shutter.

Mine are noisy, too.
Sounds like some silicon lube on the tracks fixes this problem, based on what SuperDutyScaler said.
I'll pick up some lube today and try this - I'll report back here with my findings.

lube the tracks on the inside of the panel and silicone fixed mine..nice and quiet and alot faster..

on mine I fixed the inside of the panel as well. there are like 2 rain or water guards. it was the inside guard that was pinching the window.

I used silicone and also pried it back. It some how was bent in.
