Map sensor issue...

I thought I would throw this out there & see what sticks ,cause I don't know what is wrong ..

A friend of mine has a 97 7.3 ,started running like a dog..I told him to unplug the map sensor ,,(ran better ) so he replaced it ,,no better ..ran the same as the old one ,he's been running it with it unplugged ...The hose is new ...
At the time I didn't think to check if it was plugged

Scanned the truck & buzzed it , the only thing that I thought was odd ,was the IPR DC% was 9 (ICP was seemingly ok at 580)

Contribution points to 6& 7, but it runs & idles just fine ,,

MAP is the only issue ,,

Any thoughts ?...

Shot in the dark .. where the MAP hose connects to the passenger manifold make sure the fitting the hose connects to is not plugged. Just stick something small in there, drill bit etc.

When I bought my rig it barely ran, needed a ton of stuff fixed. One of the problems was some "mechanic" didn't hook the hoses in the MAP area up correctly. He routed the manifold boost line to the little heater box chamber that you have to remove to get the passenger side VC off. Then the MAP was connected to the hose that should have gone to that heater box, I think that one might be vacuum, can't remember.
