bed modifications
I was about to have my truck and an idea struck me I just want to see what other think. I'm thinking of putting a Ranger bed in my current 55 bed. From the outside there will not be any difference. I will just use the inside & top of the Ranger bed, The Ranger bed is 11" wider and 6" shorter that the 55 bed. I will mold the top of the Ranger bed over the sides so it is flat instead of at an angle, then use the Ranger tailgate as well as the part that houses the tail gate hinges. I think I'll see if I can find a Ranger bed for cheap don't want to spend a lot of money and it doesn't work out.

The 55 fenders will stay on, the bolts are welded from the inside of the bed behind some dura-liner. The only difference from the outside will be the Ranger tailgate & the flat top of the bed.

My only questiion is why? What is it you are trying for? I could have used your energy on my truck. Are you just looking for something to do? Where do you live?? Maybe I could come and get youMax E
