You don't have to use the gauge, but some people install it guzzle.rbmicro.com he had a writeup on how to install it. I didn't install mine, i just watch it and see when it's gettin a lil dusty.

Aight do i need any other hardware for it when i put it on
Some people use a piece of 4" pvc to connect the stock intake tube to the 6637... I used alotta man power (or lil boy power, can't remember how I was feeling haha) and slid the filter into teh stock intake, reused the stock band clamp. May also be a good time to do the CCV if you haven't so far. Other than that, everything is there. It truly is a simple install.
If you go the pvc route, I believe you need another 4" band clamp.
The 4" PVC used is actually a coupler for a 3" PVC pipe, so it has a 4" O.D. You also don't have to worry about buying a long piece of pipe for the few inches you need to make the connection.
